Meet the Doctor

Dr. Ty Hanson D.O., director of Aberdeen Dermatology in Aberdeen, SD is a Board Certified Dermatologist who specializes in cosmetic, surgical, and general dermatology. Dr. Hanson has 10+ years of professional experience in private practice in Aberdeen, and also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of South Dakota. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.

At Aberdeen Dermatology, Dr. Hanson evaluates each patient individually. Among the cosmetic services offered include: skin rejuvenation for treatment of aging skin, sun damaged skin, acne, scars and uneven pigmentation. Your skin will be evaluated and regimen designed specifically for your needs. Botox and fillers such as Juvederm injections are available as non-surgical treatment for the elimination of wrinkles. Dr. Hanson uses advanced laser therapy for problems such as age spots and facial blood vessels. Sclerotherapy is available for treatment of spider veins of the legs. Aberdeen Dermatology is a certified practice offering Coolsculpting for the reduction of fat and body contouring.

Skin Cancer evaluation and treatment of skin cancer are an important part of Dr. Hanson’s practice. Since skin cancer is so prevalent in South Dakota, Dr. Hanson strongly advises patients to have a complete body exam once a year by a Board Certified Dermatologist. Dr. Hanson has extensive experience diagnosing and treating skin cancers. Dr. Hanson stresses the importance of education, regular use of an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, and early detection as the best method of skin cancer prevention. General dermatological needs such as: acne, rosacea, eczema, and other problems of the skin, hair and/or nails are also treated.
